Director James Wong is remaking a Japanese film for his next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wong will be making The Neighbor Number 13, a remake of the Japanese film Rinjin 13-go by Yasuo Inoue.

The original film centers on a young boy who witnesses a brutal case of schoolyard bullying, images that stay with him even 10 years later, which leads him to start righting other wrongs, no matter what the moral cost.

"I was seized by the concept after one viewing of Yasuo Inoue's movie, and it hasn't left me for a moment since. I think we have found a very unique way to frame the story and bring a heroic twist to it that is fresh and surprising and will take audiences on a very thrilling journey."

It was said that production on the film would start production later this year for a 2011.
