After statements from his friends and colleagues earlier today, Jamie Foxx has interacted with his fans via his social media account for the first time since being hospitalized. The actor has been the subject of a wave of public concern recently after being rushed to hospital in April with an undisclosed “medical complication.” Now fans have seen the first direct contact from the Spider-Man: No Way Home star in a short statement of gratitude posted on his Instagram account.

Unsurprisingly, the post immediately gained more than 300,000 likes and over 36,000 comments from fans wishing him well, praying for his speedy recovery and simply wanting to show even more support for the star. As the first sign that Foxx is on the mend, the simple and short post is invaluable to his 16.3 million followers who have been anxiously awaiting further news on his condition.

Earlier, comedian and friend of Foxx Kevin Hart spoke about how the wave of love shown for the actor has been such an uplifting thing to see and had helped Foxx in his recovery. He said:

"I think the dope thing is that he's getting better in the situation, and, you know, everybody's prayers, everybody's love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt. So, in this case, you just want the guy to get out of the situation and to get back on it... So my love, synergy, and energy goes out to him. He’s needed. He’s necessary. I know he knows that, and I know that he feels that because it’s been an outcry and outpour of support in his regard.“

Jamie Foxx Was Filming Back in Action When He Was Rushed To Hospital

Having appeared in a number of high profile movies, Jamie Foxx was in the middle of shooting new Netflix movie Back in Action with Cameron Diaz when he was taken to hospital. It was reported at the time that only a few days filming remained on the film, and as the show must sometimes go on, the production continued with Foxx’s body double stepping in to allow the movie to wrap up.

Back in Action has not had a smooth production so far. The film marks the return of Cameron Diaz to acting after she was coaxed to do the movie by Foxx. While the actress seemed to be pleased to be getting back in action herself, reports just prior to Foxx’s medical emergency suggested that there had been on-set tensions with the actor having a “meltdown” and Diaz suggesting that she would be retiring from the industry once again when production was over.

All of this, along with Foxx’s clearly serious medical problems, have certainly put Back in Action in the public eye. While the film does not have a release date it is expected to arrive on Netflix easily in 2024. In addition to Foxx and Diaz, the cast includes Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Rylan Jackson and Jamie Demetriou.
