Jamie Lee Curtis has not appeared in many movies that have required her to wear out-of-the-ordinary costumes. Still, after appearing in fancy dress as her mother Janet Leigh for the premiere of Halloween Kills, it is clear that the Hollywood icon is more than happy to get into some unexpected costumes when required. One such occasion calling for this is the upcoming wedding of her daughter Ruby, which Curtis will be officiating dressed as a character from the popular table-top and video game franchise World of Warcraft.

Curtis recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss her new movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, but the conversation took an unexpected turn when the actress revealed that she will be adding her daughter’s wedding to the list of those she has officiated at over the years, and that it will all be done wearing a cosplay costume of Warcraft character Jaina Proudmoore. She told Kimmel:

"I am officiating in May. It is a cosplay wedding. That means you wear a costume, you dress up as something. Everybody at the wedding is going to be in costume and I will be in a costume to officiate the wedding...It's not a theme, it's a cosplay wedding. It's really exciting, We're gonna have a beautiful picnic in the backyard. I'm really excited. Both my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears....It's so much more meaningful. Just forgetting all of show-off business – being a parent, having both of your children married in your backyard."

She continued:

"(They) picked my costume, which her name is Jaina Proudmoore. She's an admiral. SO I went on Etsy and wrote 'Jaina Proudmoore costume,' and up came a woman who had the costume. We exchanged communication, I paid her a nice sum of money for this, and all is going great, I sent her my measurements. Everything's going great, until a month ago. I got an email from her, she said 'There may be a delay in sending the costume,' I said 'Okay, that's fine, a week or two is fine.'....The costume is coming from Russia....You know there's a little bit of a supply chain issue going on."

Jamie Lee Curtis is Preparing For Her Final Halloween Movie

Halloween Ends

As well as appearing in the A24 movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, Curtis has recently completed filming on her final Halloween movie, Halloween Ends, which will be released this October. In February, she signed off from the franchise with an Instagram post in which she said, "Bittersweet END for me on the Halloween movies. I've made great friends and have collaborated with wonderful artists on these three movies and today my part in the film has been completed and with it the END for me of this trilogy.”

Despite having a varied and prolific career, Curtis will always be best known for the role of Laurie Strode in John Carpenter’s Halloween and several sequels. Her return in the latest trilogy brought to a close the story of Laurie and Michael in a new timeline that deviated from her previous return in Halloween: H20 and rebooted the Halloween franchise as though only the original movie had happened. For many, this new legacy for the franchise and the character has managed to erase some of the lackluster sequels, and it is one that fans will be eager to see the conclusion of when Halloween Ends arrives in theaters on Oct. 14, 2022.
