The final battle between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers has taken its toll on actress Jamie Lee Curtis. The third installment of a new trilogy of Halloween movies at Blumhouse, Halloween Ends brings back Curtis for what's said to be her final performance as Laurie, the character she first started playing in John Carpenter's original movie released in 1978. Production on the sequel is currently underway, and as there are no plans at this time to make any follow-up films, the plan is to conclude this three-part story in a big way.

Whatever ends up happening between Laurie and Michael remains to be seen, but, unsurprisingly, their final battle gets rather physical. Taking to social media, Curtis shared a new image of herself from the set looking like she had just emerged from a fight in the octagon. Showing off her bruises with a smile on her face and a middle finger in the air, the actress appears to happy with how her final scenes with Michael Myers are turning out, even if things are getting a bit rough.

"Sh*t got REAL! Fight Club Laurie Strode style!" Curtis says in the caption, stopping short of divulging any specific information so as not to violate said club's first rule. In another post on Twitter, Curtis noted, "Only last night, battered and bruised and bloody and after being in show off business for 45 years do I now understand why the director calls ACTION!"

The director in this case is David Gordon Green, returning to helm Halloween Ends after first directing the 2018 Halloween and last year's sequel Halloween Kills. In another photo from the set, Curtis shared an image of herself alongside Kyle Richards (Lindsay Wallace) and Andi Matichak (Allyson Nelson), confirming their involvement in the new movie. Will Patton is also expected to return as Frank Hawkins with James Jude Courtney back as "The Shape" himself, Michael Myers.

There have been many alternate timelines in the Halloween series. No less than twice, JLC's Laurie Strode character has been killed off, only to be resurrected with a reboot. Now that we're past four decades after the release of the original film, however, it doesn't seem likely that the next inevitable Halloween reboot will reimagine another showdown between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. Curtis clarified in an interview with Total Film last year that she truly believes this is her final Halloween film. The good news is that she feels pretty happy with how things end.

"I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her. And I'm not saying something like, 'Oh, because I die!' It's nothing to do with that. I'm talking about emotionally what they have constructed. I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy," Curtis says.

Halloween Ends is set to be released in movie theaters on Oct. 14, 2022.
