Every now and then, a network just gets things right. When the first season of Jane the Virgin came out on The CW in 2015, it was an instant hit. The show follows the Villanueva family, consisting of Jane, Xiomara, and Alba. When Jane finds out she's pregnant, her world practically stops turning. “Why?” you may ask. Well, Jane is a virgin, so, at this point, the only explanation is immaculate conception or, what it actually is, artificial insemination. This hilarious drama comedy takes elements of a telenovela and has audiences glued to their screens for the entire five seasons.

Sadly, the show ended in 2019, with a finale that had us melting and crying all at once. Even though it has been a few years, the beloved characters are still in our hearts. However, once the show ended, keeping up with Jane (Gina Rodriguez), Raphael (Justin Baldoni), Michael (Brett Dier), and everyone else in the cast is definitely harder. When a show ends, audiences might lose track of what the cast might be doing. If you are a fan of Jane the Virgin, we have an update for you on what the cast has been up to since the last season wrapped up on The CW.

Our favorite grandma and almost always the voice of reason, Alba Villanueva was played by Puerto Rican actress Ivonne Coll. We are used to Coll playing the sweet, wholesome, and Jesus-loving head of the Villanueva household. However, her acting career stretches beyond just that, having roles in the show Lucifer and Fancy Nancy.

4 Andrea Navedo

Xiomara as a key piece in the heart and soul of this show. Although Jane the Virgin is a romantic comedy to its core, the greatest love story happens to be between the mother and daughter bond between Jane, Xiomara, and Alba. Xiomara is played by Andrea Navedo. Since the show ended, Navedo has had roles in the animated show Elena of Avalor. If you loved Jane the Virgin, make sure you keep an eye out on ay future projects she may be a part of.
