Janeane Garofalo is set to appear on the upcoming season of Fox's popular series 24. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garofalo is the second major cast addition this year.

The Comedian-Actress will be playing a government agent who is assigned to investigate the crisis that befalls agent Jack Bauer in the new season. The show is currently going through a major revamping after a lackluster sixth season.

Cherry Jones is set to play the new president on upcoming episodes. The seventh season is set to start shooting September 10th of this year.

Emmy nominee Janeane Garofalo (The Larry Sanders Show) joins the cast of 24 as "Janis Gold," an FBI systems analyst assigned to the team investigating the crisis befalling Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and company in the upcoming Season Seven.

The Emmy Award-winning series resets the clock for "Day 7" in January, Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Garofalo's voice is featured in the animated hit Ratatouille and The Wild. On television, she has been seen on such shows as The West Wing, Strangers with Candy and Felicity.

The highly anticipated seventh season of 24, starring Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland, promises to combine the show's unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. Each episode again will cover one hour of real time, and the season's entire story will take place in one day.
