When Hugh Jackman teased that every X-Men mutant is appearing in X-Men: Days of Future Past, that may not have been entirely accurate. January Jones has revealed that she will not likely return as Emma Frost, the character she portrayed in X-Men: First Class.

"I don't know that I'm in it, I don't think Emma's in this one. Well they haven't told me if I am (laughs). I wouldn't put it past them though, I got the script for the first one on the airplane on the way there. It's called Days of Future Past I think, and I think it's more aboutJames (McAvoy) and Michael (Fassbender) and then Patrick (Stewart) and Ian (McKellen), and I think it's gonna go back and forth with those so I don't think Emma's in those bits. I don't know, I really don't know."

According to January Jones' statement, it sounds like the character simply won't appear at all. So, fans of the actress don't have to worry about a replacement. Kitty Pryde? There's a character that has been played by three different actresses in three different films, so it's not beyond 20th Century Fox to recast Mutants.

X-Men: First Class stars Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are confirmed to return, along with Hugh Jackman, who had a memorable five minute cameo in the first prequel. Bryan Singer is working from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg and Matthew Vaughn. He directed the first two films in the franchise, X-Men and X2: X-Men United.
