Following reports that Jared Padalecki had been involved in a car accident, the Walker star has let all of his fans know that he's doing just fine. Appearing at a Supernatural fan convention over the weekend, Jensen Ackles had informed fans that Padalecki was "lucky to be alive" after he was involved in a "very bad" accident. On Tuesday, Padalecki took to Twitter to post an update about the situation, letting fans know he appreciates the support and that he's doing well enough to hopefully be back on set by the end of the week. You can see the tweet below.

"Hey y’all! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love," Padlecki said. "I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week. I’m so lucky to have had the best care and be surrounded by people who love me. So grateful for everyone."

According to Ackles, Padalecki wasn't driving and was in the passenger seat when the accident happened. Things could have turned out worse if not for the airbag, which "packs a punch" and left Padalecki feeling like he "went 12 rounds with Tyson." Once the news started to spread, people were sending Padalecki well wishes on social media, and his name was trending before long as thousands of fans joined in.

Jared Padalecki's Walker, Texas Ranger Reboot Gets Picked Up at The CW

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have kept in close contact since Supernatural wrapped its 15-season run, even if they've gone on to work on separate projects. For his part, Padalecki stuck around at The CW by starring in Walker, the network's reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger. Last month, the series was renewed for season 3, so Padalecki will be sticking around in that role for some time to come.

Ackles has also teamed back up with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke with his role as Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season of The Boys. His involvement has gotten a lot of fans especially excited about the acclaimed superhero show's third season, which is set to start streaming on Prime Video in June. Ackles has released sneak peek images of himself in character with more of Soldier Boy also shown in the official trailer. Although he has voiced an animated version of Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Long Halloween, Ackles recently said he wants to play The CW's live-action version as well.

Meanwhile, Ackles will also be working on a Supernatural prequel series, dubbed The Winchesters, for The CW. The actor will be reprising the role of Dean Winchester to serve as the show's narrator, and it will be following the Winchester brothers' parents in the years prior to Supernatural. Ackles has teased that the prequel will be connected to the original series in "crazy ways," and even if it's no longer Sam and Dean in the central roles, the show will definitely be worth checking out for fans of Ackles and Supernatural. Behind the camera, Padalecki and Ackles also recently reunited with Ackles directing an episode of Walker.
