Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke is in talks to join the growing cast of Child 44 for Lionsgate and director Daniel Espinosa (Safe House).

The story centers on Tom Hardy's character, a Soviet military police officer who investigates a string of brutal child murders in the 1950s, only to discover that he himself has become a target of his own government. Jason Clarke is playing a man named Brodsky, who is accused of being a traitor by the MP. Noomi Rapace also stars as Tom Hardy's wife, with Joel Kinnaman playing the military cop's murderous co-worker. Paddy Considine, Gary Oldman, and Philip Seymour Hoffman also star in unspecified roles.
