Vin Diesel will face off with Jason Momoa in Fast and Furious 10. After it was previously reported that Momoa had joined the Fast family with his casting in Fast 10, the actor has spoken out about his role in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. While Momoa cannot reveal anything specific about the character he's playing, he does confirm that he'll be the movie's villain, and the Aquaman star couldn't be more thrilled to play the antagonist.

"It's fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven't gotten to do for a while. Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!"

We have seen Momoa playing villainous characters in the past, with Game of Thrones' Khal Drogo standing out as an example. He's since become more synonymous with heroics and righteousness as the star of the Aquaman movies, making him synonymous with the DC superhero. Fast 10 will give him a chance to delve back into his dark side in a big-budget motion picture, and given Momoa's tease that he'll be playing a "flamboyant" villain, it sounds like this role should be exciting.

The tenth Fast film will also bring back Charlize Theron to play the main villain, Cipher, which means that Momoa's character may end up working with her in some fashion against the protagonists. John Cena's character similarly did the same before switching sides to join his brother in F9, and Cena has expressed his interest in returning for the final movies. Of course, Vin Diesel will be back for the film, as well as major players Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, and Sung Kang.

Fast & Furious 10 Will Conclude the Movie Series

We've seen this franchise drive into many different directions throughout the series, but it has to come to an end sometime. It has been announced that there will be two more movies made to close out the Fast & Furious story, and to go out with a bang, Vin Diesel has been bringing in some big names, hence Momoa's recent casting. He was also hoping to get Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to return for the finale, though Johnson made it clear that he wouldn't be doing that.

“I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise," The Rock explained on CNN, rejecting a public plea from Diesel to return. "I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”

He added, "My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible franchise with gratitude and grace. It’s unfortunate that this public dialogue has muddied the waters. Regardless, I’m confident in the Fast universe and its ability to consistently deliver for the audience… I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter.”

As of now, Fast & Furious 10 is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2023.
