One of the key crew members of ABC's breakout comedy hit is heading to the big screen for a new remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Modern Family director Jason Winer will direct the big-screen remake Arthur.

Russell Brand will star, portraying the title character that Dudley Moore portrayed in the 1981 original film, which featured Arthur as a wild playboy who will inherit the family fortune if he marries the woman of his family's choosing. He becomes torn, though, when he falls for a working-class woman and has to decide between his fortune and love.

Winer will be directing from a script by Peter Baynham. Winer, who had directed 10 of Modern Family's first-season episodes, recently won a Director's Guild of America award for directing the series pilot.
