Jeffrey Dean Morgan is transitioning from a zombie-infested world in The Walking Dead to an equally dangerous world of superheroes in the fourth season of The Boys. The actor was confirmed to join the series earlier this year, though his exact role in the comic book adaptation is still unknown. Morgan is joining former Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy in the series, along with Eric Kripke, creator of both shows.

Morgan recently took to his Instagram, where he shared a brief behind-the-scenes photo including the script for an episode of The Boys Season 4. Though there's no concrete information from the post, fans can rest assured that Morgan is hard at work on the upcoming season. Morgan's caption reads, "Oh OhOh @theboystv. Hope you ready for me… cuz I sure as shit ready for you! Memorizing as I run the fence line. A damn fine day… at least until I find the broken fence." His Instagram tease can be found below.

Morgan will join an established cast including longtime members such as Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Giancarlo Esposito, and more. The Boys, which began in 2019, follows a group of corrupt superheroes and the titular vigilante team that sets out to take them down. The fourth season doesn't have a release date, though audiences can expect the series to return sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.

The Boys is looking to add to its expanding roster with a few new actors added to the cast. Aside from Jeffrey Dean Morgan, two new superheroes will be featured in the upcoming fourth season. Firecracker is the first, played by Valorie Curry, known for her work in Blair Witch and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. She's one of the few supes known for carrying a firearm, which is sure to be a staple of her character when she joins the show.

Susan Heyward also joins the cast, known for Orange Is the New Black and Powers. She is set to play Sister Sage, though very little is known about her abilities going into the season. Neither character come from the comics, as they're both creations for the show, meaning they're equally surrounded in mystery. Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan, the son of Homelander, will also have a more significant role in the fourth season as he's recently been bumped to a series regular.

Fans can see Heyward, Morgan, Curry, and Crovetti when The Boys Season 4 eventually returns on Prime Video.
