Netflix and Tim Burton put The Addams Family and their daughter, Wednesday, back on top. The original series on the platform, created by the famous director of hits like Edward Scissorhands, became a global phenomenon and one of the most-watched series last year.

After a long wait, the streaming service renewed the show for a second season, which took a while to arrive because Jenna Ortega, its main star, had to negotiate a new contract.

But playing Wednesday hasn't been easy. Between cello practices and long days of filming, the actress revealed that she went through really stressful moments during production. Even the character's aesthetics was a real headache and a detail that could never be left out.

In a recent appearance on Hot Ones, Ortega revealed that there was one detail in particular about Wednesday's look that Burton was always insisting on:

"Even on the first day when they were trying to establish what my hair was gonna look like we ran two hours behind because 'No her braids are uneven. This one's lower, this one's higher.' He didn't like the way that my fringe looked at the time, so he was just, 'Hey can I do... do you mind if I do that?' He asked the hairdresser very politely and just kind of did my hair himself."

Tim is known for his obsession with every little thing that appears on camera, even when his productions are so enormous. So in the case of Wednesday, given the nature of the character, it's understandable that the director was so insistent that her look would truly be perfect.
