Production on season 2 of Chucky is moving along swimmingly as seen in the latest photo from the set. Taking to social media, franchise star Jennifer Tilly shared an image revealing a sneak peek at her return as Tiffany. The actress notes that she's in the midst of a "late night shoot" as she takes a break on the bed with co-star Gina Gershon and series creator Don Mancini.

Gina Gershon's casting in Chucky season 2 was just recently announced with the actress joining Joe Pantoliano and Lara Jean Chorostecki as newcomers to the series. The casting also reunites three main cast members of the 1996 film Bound which starred Tilly, Gershon, and Pantoliano. Devon Sawa, who played twin characters in the first season, will also return for season 2, though he will be playing a new character.

Other cast newcomers include Tony Nappo, Sutton Stracke, and Jennifer's younger sister Meg Tilly. Of course, Brad Dourif will be back as the voice of Chucky with other returning stars including Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Fiona Dourif. The show has been very well-received by horror fans

The fans love Tiffany. I love playing Tiffany. I thought maybe he'll write a part for me, perhaps a cameo or something. I really wanted to be a part of it because I love Don Mancini. I love the Chucky fans. I love the character. When I got the script, I was so happy because he'd written such an amazing character arc for me.

While there were first three Child's Play movies that were released before Jennifer Tilly joined the franchise, Tiffany has since become just as vital to the franchise as Chucky. In a prior interview with CBR, Tilly addressed the love that fans still have for the character. She theorized why it was that fans love Tiffany so much, suggesting that people can relate to her - beyond the homicides, of course. Tilly also believes fans appreciate the humor that Tiffany brings to the franchise.

"I think they love that she's larger than life," she said. "I think that they just like that nothing fazes her. She's always ready. She has a quip, and she's like the supervillain that kills people and then makes some joke about it. She's also very sincere. She's very earnest. She loves her kid, even though it gets complicated. She loves her boyfriend, even though he treats her bad."

Tilly added, "I think people can relate to her, except for her penchant for killing. But then after she kills somebody, she feels really bad about it, so she has a conscious. She's not totally evil."

Chucky season 2 is set to premiere in the fall of 2022, so the killings will begin again just in time for the Halloween season. In the meantime, you can stream the first season of Chucky on Peacock.
