Ben Affleck has left his time as Batman behind. And as Robert Pattinson gets ready to return as The Dark Knight in The Batman Part 2, another Bruce Wayne will come along under James Gunn's vision. And many want Jensen Ackles to take the role.

The former Supernatural star already has some interesting history with DC, giving his voice to Jason Todd/Red Hood in Batman: Under the Red Hood, and most recently got the chance to play Bruce Wayne himself in the two parts adaptation of The Long Halloween and Legion of Super Heroes. He was also almost cast as the Caped Crusader in Gotham Knights, the most recent series set in the Batman universe that premiered a few days ago in The CW and has his former co-star Misha Collins playing Harvey Dent.

The DC fandom is so on board with having Ackles in the franchise that Stryder HD has published a video that has the actor taking Affleck's place as Batman:

The new version of Batman will be introduced in 2025 with The Brave and the Bold, where Bruce Wayne will share the spotlight with his son, Damian.

What's Jensen Ackles' Been Up to Since Supernatural

After playing Dean Winchester for 15 years, Ackles was recruited by the original series creator and showrunner Erick Kripke to play Soldier Boy in the Prime Video hit series, The Boys, one of the main characters in Season 3.

While working on the new character, Jensen also announced a Supernatural spin-off, The Winchesters, which he has developed himself and where he reprises the role of Dean as the narrator of his parents' story. The show follows Mary and John in the first years after they met and how their lives interbreed because of their connection to the supernatural, something they will pass down to their children.

He will soon arrive at the big screen in Rust, Alec Baldwin's most recent film that's been in the eye of the storm after the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the on-set shooting.

Ackles could also return for the third Season of The Boys, which would result in another Supernatural reunion since Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played John Winchester in the show, was recently cast. Another interesting aspect is that Morgan has been part of the Batman universe by playing Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman.
