Actor Jeremy Renner has just added another project to his burgeoning slate, signing on to star in King of Heists for Black Bear Pictures.

Will Staples wrote the adapted screenplay from J. North Conway's book of the same name. Jeremy Renner will portray George Leslie, a mild-mannered gentleman who quietly assembled a crew and pulled off a $3 million heist from the Manhattan Savings Institution in 1878.

Jeremy Renner will also produce King of Heists alongside Don Handfield. Teddy Schwarzman will executive produce for Black Bear Pictures, which optioned the book.

Jeremy Renner has become one of the busiest actors around as of late, with projects such as The Bourne Legacy, Slingshot, and Low Life currently in development. He also stars in the upcoming movies Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (December 16), Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (March 2, 2012), and The Avengers (May 4, 2012). No production schedule was given for King of Heists.
