Jerry Bruckheimer has joined Scott Derrickson's paranormal thriller Beware the Night to produce. Eric Bana is in early negotiations to headline.

The film is based on a book by Ralph Sarchie and Lisa Collier Cool. The story centers on a New York police officer whose main focus is to investigate supernatural occurrences.

Scott Derrickson, who most recently directed Sinister, will be helming from a screenplay he wrote with his writing partner Paul Harris Boardman.

Jerry Bruckheimer is best known for producing the Pirates of The Caribbean series, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and the upcoming Lone Ranger remake starring Johnny Depp.
