Jerry, Jerry, Jerry! The audience chant is familiar to Jerry Springer, the popular host of The Jerry Springer Show who also hosts NBC's America's Got Talent -- and who now will guest-star as a high roller on NBC's celebrated daytime drama Days of Our Lives on July 27 (1-2 p.m. in most markets).

In this special summer episode (taping July 9) Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) is at a Las Vegas casino trying his luck at a game of blackjack when he meets skillful gambler Pete (guest star Springer). Pete is winning every hand and Nick can't understand where he went wrong. On the verge of bankruptcy, Pete takes pity upon Nick and shows him how he can win -- and impress the girl of his dreams, Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin).

"In light of the fact that I deal with real life soap operas every day," says Springer, " - it's a total thrill to actually be able to appear on one - particularly of the stature of Days of Our Lives."

Cultural icon Springer, host for 16 seasons of the hit talk show The Jerry Springer Show, as well as this summer's #1 television program, America's Got Talent, boasts a resume that includes such diverse roles as: mayor of Cincinnati, political pundit, lawyer, award-winning newscaster, country recording artist, international emcee, TV personality, author, movie star, Broadway actor, progressive talk-radio broadcaster, and most recently, ballroom dancer on the hit Dancing with the Stars. His popularity has also led him to be a favorite guest-speaker at college campuses across the country, not to mention a special guest lecturer at Oxford University in England.

NBC's Days of Our Lives will celebrate its 42nd year on the air in November 2007 and has already garnered numerous Emmy Awards and nominations, as well as multiple "Soap Opera Digest" and "People's Choice" Awards. The show's success derives from its consistent commitment to excellence in writing and storytelling - supported by a diverse ensemble of performers - and an uncanny knack for anticipating viewer interests. Set in the fictitious midwestern town of Salem, the core families, the Hortons and the Bradys, are part of an eternal saga that can include anything from demonic possessions and serial killers to genre traditions such as baby switches, amnesia and classic love triangles.
