In the first decade of the 2000s, you couldn't move without seeing something that Jessica Alba was involved in. From the James Cameron created series Dark Angel, to blockbuster movies like Sin City, The Fantastic Four and their respective sequels, and a whole host of comedies, Alba seemed to be everywhere making up to five movies a year. However, in the last four years she has only appeared twice on the big screen in David E. Talbert's black comedy El Camino Christmas in 2017 and with Gary Oldman in 2019's Killers Anonymous, but now she is about to start filming a new thriller, Trigger Warning, for Netflix.

Speaking to Deadline, the actress turned businesswoman said that she will be travelling from the New Mexico film set back to Los Angeles multiple times a week to help run her Honest Co. business, which she founded a decade ago and is now has a market cap of $1.26 billion since going public in May. Alba, who is chief creative director at the company, was most recently seen on TV in LA's Finest, a drama series that she starred in and executive produced, she has no issues with splitting herself between acting and maintaining her business ventures.

Talking about her busy schedule after a panel at an AT&T 5G event in New York she said, "I don't believe I'll miss a beat." The actress was at the event to look at how 5G can help her further advance Honest Co., which provides many healthy baby care products, skincare and household products, mostly via online stores. "I am a big advocate of being consumer first. I built my entire brand around a consumer-first sentiment," she said.

When asked about the changes happening in the entertainment industry and the shifting landscape, she went on, "I think a lot of the infrastructure and... the stuff that people focus on is for a big screen in a lot of ways. And the facts or the realty of the situation is that a lot of people are consuming those same films, television shows with that high production value on their cell phones, on their tablets. So I think [on] the creative side they just have to be mindful of that. If there's lag in entertainment, with people who don't really want to put the audience first, it's like what are you really doing then?"

Alba has, by her own admission, spent more time focusing on her business than her Hollywood career over the last decade. She said, "I dabbled a bit and I have a couple of things that I've been developing over the years and they've gotten to a place where I'm going to go into production." Of her new role in Trigger Warning, Alba added, "I'm excited to do it. It's fun. It uses a totally different piece of my brain, of my soul. Being able to jump into that."

Filming on Trigger Warning is set to take place during the fall this year, with the film expected to release on Netflix early in 2023. This news comes to us from Deadline.
