Fresh off her Oscar-nominated turn in Zero Dark Thirty, Jessica Chastain is in talks to star in Interstellar.

The actress will play the third lead, alongside Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. Little is known about the story, although it is said to revolve around a journey into outer space that redefines what we know about science and technology. The story is said to be based on the theories of physicist Kip S. Thorne, who believes that wormholes actually exist, and can be used for time travel.

Christopher Nolan is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother, Jonathan Nolan. Christopher Nolan is also producing with Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst. No production schedule was given.

Earlier this week, Jessica Chastain signed on to star in The Zookeeper's Wife, and, last month, she joined the cast of Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak.
