A hotel that was languishing in development is about to open for business again. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Open Season director Jill Culton has signed on to direct Hotel Transylvania. Brothers Kevin and Daniel Hageman have come aboard to write the screenplay.

The film has been described as Romeo and Juliet in the vampire world. The pic centers on monster hunter Simon Van Helsing who just happens to fall in love with the daughter of Dracula. When they discover that they are sworn enemies, they band together to bring peace to their warring factions.

The film has been in development for some time now, and at one point Anthony Stacchi and David Feiss were both attached to direct. Stacchi co-directed Open Season with Culton and Feiss served as the story editor on Open Season as well.

No production schedule has been announced.
