Jessica Simpson has gotten better with each new role, and now she is headlining her own comedy entitled Major Movie Star. According to Variety, actress Jill Marie Jones has signed on to appear opposite Simpson in the new film.

The plot revolves around an actress, played by Simpson, who joins the Marines in the hopes of shedding her cute image and winning the approval of a certain director that thinks she's unsuitable for his upcoming military-themed movie. It's kind of like Private Benjamin with a Paris Hilton bent. Jones will play a fellow recruit and close friend of Simpson's.

Steve Miner, best known for directing a couple of the Friday The 13th films back in the eighties, will be behind the wheel of this one. It is currently in production. We can expect it to hit theaters sometime in the spring.
