Jim Broadbent and Miranda Richardson are signed to appear in the Jean-Marc Vallee directed The Young Victoria. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emily Blunt and Mark Strong have also joined the cast of this project.
Julian Fellowes wrote the screenplay, which will revolve around Victoria's rise to power in England. The plot will focus on the early turbulent years of her reign and her romance and marriage to Prince Albert.
Broadbent will play King William and Richardson will play the Duchess of Kent in the drama. Blunt is playing the queen, while Rupert Friend has signed on as Prince Albert.
The film begins shooting this month in the UK.
