Last month, we reported that actor Jim Carrey was being courted by Universal Pictures to play Colonel Stars in Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. Over the weekend, director Jeff Wadlow confirmed through his Twitter page that the actor has officially signed on. Take a look at these tweets from the director, star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and comic book creator Mark Millar that confirm the news in a cryptic fashion.

Colonel Stars plays an integral part in the forming of Justice Forever, the superhero team that Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) joins in the sequel. Chloe Moretz and Nicolas Cage are reprising their roles from Kick-Ass, with new additions such as John Leguizamo and Donald Faison joining the cast. Production will begin next week in Toronto.
