Another The Mask alum has nabbed a gig today. According to Variety, Jim Carrey will be starring in the comedy Sober Buddies.

Carrey will star as a court-appointed "sober buddy" who follows a notorious partier on a crucial software business meeting in Las Vegas. Jokes really hit the fan when Carrey's character finds himself falling off the wagon.

A very busy Andrew Kurtzman is writing the script. He is also currently working on Mr. Peabody and Sherman for DreamWorks.

Sober Buddies does not have a set start date. At this time, Carrey is mulling over which project he wants to do next, before the potential actors' strike next June. On his plate are this film, Tim Burton's Ripley's Believe It or Not, the dark comedy I Love You Phillip Morris, and the Fox family comedy Me Time.
