Jim Caviezel has come aboard the remake of Colin Eggleston's classic film Long Weekend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Claudia Karvan will also co-star in the thriller.
Everett de Roche's script shows a couple under marital strain taking the weekend to sort things out. Their abuse of wildlife brings on the revenge of Mother Nature. Jamie Banks will be directing.
Gary Hamilton, producer at Arclight Films says, "The original film was a great example of a classic chiller and was acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. We think the time is right to make this new film and that it will have a huge appeal to audiences worldwide." Nigel Odell will co-produce.
Production is scheduled to begin next month.
