After spending several years playing Bob Saget's daughter both as a child and as an adult, Jodie Sweetin has posted a very touching tribute to the late comedian. In Full House and its spinoff Fuller House, Saget played family patriarch Danny Tanner with Sweetin co-starring as middle child Stephanie. In addition to their relationship as television relatives, they were also very good friends, and Saget's death has left Sweetin in mourning.

"There aren’t enough words to express what I’m feeling today. Nor are they big enough to capture even a slice of who he was," Sweetin said with a tribute post on Instagram. "One thing I do know, is that we never missed a chance to tell each other, 'I love you.' Every time we talked, there were at least 3 or 4 exchanged at the end of a conversation, whether it was text, phone call or in person. And he usually had to have the last word, 'I love you more…'”

"Bob was a wonderful human being," Sweetin goes on to say while sharing some memories of Saget. "A human being that could drive you nuts at times, and he knew it, but who was so genuine that you couldn’t even get that frustrated. Someone who would also call and profusely apologize for at LEAST 15 minutes if he thought he MAY have perhaps said something he shouldn’t have or thought maybe he took a joke too far. He was a genuinely kind spirit who made it through so much in his life, and was most happy when he was helping others. Whether it was personally or through SO many of his different avenues of philanthropy."

The former child star adds: "He gave great hugs too. I would always say 'you’re the best TV dad ever.' And he was. I’ll miss you Bob. I’ll make sure and tell an inappropriate joke at your funeral. In your honor. I know you would’ve wanted that. But you were supposed to be here longer… How Rude. Thank you all for the love."

Bob Saget Always Stayed Close With the Full House Cast After the Series Ended

Full House Cast

Full House coming to an end did not mean that the cast would never see each other again, as they all stayed in touch and remained good friends. It was always evident to the show's fans how close the cast still was as well, as they were very open about their love for each other. One big acknowledgment for Sweetin came on her birthday last year when her TV dad posted some images of them together taken decades apart. In response, Sweetin tweeted back, "Love you so much!!"

Of course, the time would come when the gang would get back together once again for the Netflix revival series Fuller House. The show ended its five-season run on the streamer just last year. All that was missing from the revival was the presence of Michelle Tanner, played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in the original show. This is because they were retired from acting and didn't want to get back in front of the camera, but behind the scenes, the Olsens had also stayed close with Saget.

"Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man," the Olsen Twins have also said in a joint statement. "We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has. We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences."

The world needs more people like Bob Saget and the world is a bit less funny and kind with the legendary comedian no longer around. His work will keep his memory alive forever. Rest in peace, Bob Saget.
