DC Comic's World War II-era hero Sgt. Rock may finally be headed to the screen, if producer Joel Silver has anything to say about it. Speaking to Ain't It Cool News, Silver hinted that the film may be on it's way "very soon", and with Guy Ritchie set to direct.

When it was commented that Silver had stuck with the property of Sgt. Rock for a long time, Silver answered "I'm going to make that. I'm going to make that very soon. With Guy Ritchie, I think."

According to early rumors, the film will retain it's WWII setting, instead of being adapted for modern-day conflicts. Furthermore, the movie will not be an origin story, instead it will focus on Rock after he's seen a great deal of conflict.
