MTV is reporting that Joel Silver (The Matrix) wants to make the redux of Logan's Run in 3D.

"I'd like to make Logan's Run [in 3-D]," he said. "It's a movie I've always been intrigued with, excited by. We're writing a script now and that should be a big 3-D movie and it should be devised and shot in 3-D. I think if we can pull it together, then it would be."

The 1976 original starred Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett. It was based on a 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. The premise sees a future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age. Anyone who veers from that destiny is dubbed a "runner" and is hunted by operatives known as Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who is forced to go on the run.

Silver also said he wants to adapt DC Comics Lobo:

"I want to do Lobo too, and that should also be a 3-D movie," he said. "We're working on the script now a little bit more. We did a test, a very effective test. We're moving forward and I hope we can get that together."
