It seems the Kennedy political family will be explored in a whole new light with a new mini-series. According to Variety, 24 co-creator Joel Surnow is writing a 10-hour mini-series The Kennedy's which will delve into the political family.

Surnow, a noted conservative who also executive produces Fox News' The 1/2 Hour News Hour program, will be delving into the darker secrets of the Kennedy clan and how they rose to prominence, and "the soiled and crooked steps" they took to get there. Here's an excerpt from the press release that Muse Entertainment, the Canadian distributor, issued.

"It also tells the historical stories that are associated with the Kennedy era -- the Bay of Pigs, the Missile Crisis, the civil rights struggle, the mob connection -- each one told in the context of personal, Kennedy-family dramas."

It was said that the budget was $30 million and that at least one cable network was interested in the mini-series, but no further production schedule was released.
