Just two weeks after we reported Attack the Block star John Boyega is in contention for a Jedi apprentice role in Star Wars: Episode VII, The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit revealed today that the young actor is also being sought to play Danny Dyson, the son of Miles Dyson in Terminator: Genesis.
Joe Morton played Dyson, exec at Cyberdyne. If u recall, Terminator pays a visit to Dyson's house, son is there.— Borys Kit (@Borys_Kit) March 25, 2014
@andreweplotkin He can't do both. He has to wait out the Star Wars game.— Borys Kit (@Borys_Kit) March 25, 2014
It remains to be seen which of these projects John Boyega will ultimately become attached to, since Terminator: Genesis starts shooting next month and Star Wars: Episode VII begins production this May.
Miles Dyson was played by Joe Morton in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, as the Cyberdyne engineer who was primarily responsible for the creation of Skynet. His young son Danny was featured in a scene where the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and John Connor (Edward Furlong) visited the Dyson home. The character was also portrayed by Phil Morris in the Fox TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
There is still much we don't know about the Terminator: Genesis plot, so it is unclear how Miles Dyson's son fits into the story.
