John Carney, director of the Sundance prize-winning film Once, has just landed his first studio gig. According to Variety, Carney will soon be directing Doug Wright's screenplay Town House.

The film revolves around the reclusive son of a long dead rock legend. The kid has manages to make a living off of selling his dad's memorabilia, but now he is almost broke and must sell the last thing he owns of his father's, a famous Town House. In the process of getting rid of it, he slowly comes to terms with himself and his deceased dad's famous past.

The screenplay is an adaptation of the Tish Cohen novel of the same name. It will begin shooting this summer along the East Coast.
