Perhaps John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will meet once again in the DCEU. In years past, both Cena and Johnson had performed at the top of WWE, each earning multiple world championships to establish themselves as two of pro wrestling's biggest stars. They've since been dominating Hollywood with their own respective big roles, and it seems inevitable that the two will be sharing the screen one day.

It seems like the chances for Cena and The Rock to have an on-screen rematch have increased with both actors making a big mark in the DCEU. After debuting in The Suicide Squad, Cena led his own Peacemaker series on HBO Max, which has since been renewed after it was very well-received by fans and critics. Meanwhile, Johnson will make his way to the DCEU this year with the release of the anticipated film Black Adam.

Given that some major surprises revealed in Peacemaker season 1 linked the series to Justice League, the Peacemaker team will likely look to do something even bigger for season 2. In a new interview with People, Cena was asked his thoughts on The Rock's Black Adam possibly appearing in Peacemaker's second season. Cena says he'd be "honored" to work with Johnson but that these decisions are not up to him.

"I'll say the same thing every time with possibilities in the sort of universe... it would be an honor and a privilege to be able to perform with him. I think there still is a passionate marketplace that wants to see him in. But I'm sorry, man, that's just not my choice so I don't know. It's so far beyond me. It's beyond what I'm able to control."

Dwayne Johnson and John Cena Might Meet Again in the DCEU

John Cena Hopes The Rock Rematch Happens in a Future Fast & Furious Movie
WWE

John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have duked it out in a WWE ring on multiple occasions. They nearly crossed paths in another major franchise, as Cena joined the Fast & Furious series as one of the newcomers in F9. The two-part Fast & Furious finale will bring back many big stars from throughout the film series, and Cena has said he'd be happy to return as Jakob Toretto, the brother of Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto.

However, we can't count on Cena and The Rock sharing the screen in F10. Johnson has made it clear that he will not be returning for the finale to the movie series, despite a public plea from Diesel to make it happen. If The Rock is ever going to share the screen with Cena in a new project, fans will have to look outside of the Fast & Furious franchise.

As well, we will have to see what the future holds as far as a possible DCEU crossover. Cena is here to stay with Peacemaker getting a second season, and unless Black Adam somehow winds up bombing, we will most likely see more of The Rock in the DCEU. Maybe, just maybe, we'll see that crossover happen on the screen before we know it, even if it's just for a brief cameo from Johnson in Peacemaker season 2.
