John Goodman has joined the cast of the vigilante drama Death Sentence for director James Wan and 20th Century Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film stars Kevin Bacon as a father out for revenge after his family is attacked in a gang-initiation crime. Aisha Tyler, Kelly Preston, Garrett Hedlund and Matthew O'Leary also star.

Goodman will play Bones Darly, an arms dealer and the boss of a drug ring that includes his two sons, Billy (Hedlund, Four Brothers) and Joe (O'Leary, Brick). Leigh Whannell, co-writer and star of Saw, also has a part in the film, as Stink, one of the gang members.

Ian Jeffers adapted the screenplay from the novel of the same name by Brian Garfield. Shooting on the film is under way in Columbia, S.C.
