According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miramax Films regular John Madden is reteaming with the mini-major to direct the company's long-gestating Elmore Leonard adaptation, Killshot. Based on a script by Hossein Amini, the thriller follows an innocent couple pursued by two violent killers -- a hit man and a sociopath -- after they stumble across an extortion scheme.

Killshot has been in development for some time -- at one point, Tony Scott was attached to direct, and Robert De Niro and Quentin Tarantino were reported as possibilities to star in the project.
