Production Weekly reports that John Malkovich, Ellen Barkin, Alison Lohman and Bruce Willis will all topline the indie feature, Texas Lullaby, to be directed by international photographer and commerical director, Malcolm Venville.

Steve Allisons' script is a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, set in the small town of Lamarque, Texas, the sister city to Elsinore, Denmark.

After the sudden death of Cletus (Willis) his father, and his mother's (Barkin) abrupt and unexpected marriage to his uncle Sheriff Tanner Telmah (Malkovich), young Adair Telmah is confused and depressed. When his father's ghost appears to him, claiming he's been murdered by Tanner, Adair is baffled to the point of madness by the goal of vengence set for him by his dead daddy. What follows is a Jacobean tragedy, Texas style, with plenty of Lone Star beer and barbeque sauce to offset the stench of blood.

Production is scheduled to begin mid-December in Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana.
