According to Dark Horizons, John Malkovich in is heavy talks to be be in Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf. Should he join the project, Malkovich would be sharing the screen with Anthony Hopkins and Robin Wright Penn. The film is going to be shot in the motion-capture animation technology that Zemeckis pioneered in The Polar Express.
According to the actor, his character would be "a sort of advisor to the King. But I don't have the newest script which will be on my desk when I am back in France. It's not definitive [that Malkovich is in it]. But it is very likely."
Other projects he talked about while attending the Locarno Filmfestival were that of a White Trash Hamlet and that he will be helming a picture "with the german producer Stefan Arndt called The Crime of Olga Arbelina from a french novel written by a russian writer Andrei Makine."
