You can't really blame director John Moore for the shoddy production value of his last effort, a remake of The Omen. He only had about three days to plan and shoot it. The man deserves a second chance, and according to Variety, he's going to get one. It looks like the director has just optioned the rights to John Connolly's novel The Book of Lost Things, which he plans on making himself.

The book revolves around a young English boy who is dealing with the loss of his birth mother while adjusting to a new stepmom. He soon discovers a portal in his bedroom that opens up to a land of horrible beasts and monsters. The boy gets stuck there, and must battle his way back to civilization.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.
