Filmmaker John Sayles is about to lend his writing talents to a new HBO series. According to Variety, Sayles will write for the new HBO series, tenatively titled Scar Tissue.

The series will revolve around Red Hot Chilli Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis and his early years in West Hollywood. He lived with his dad, who went by Spider, and sold drugs and hung out on the Sunset Strip with rock bands like Led Zeppelin and The Who, while trying to get an in into show business.

The series will be set in 1970s West Hollywood and Los Angeles and include the rockers that Kiedis and his father encountered.
