With Andrew Garfield cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone cast as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans cast as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, the next major character looking to be filled in Marc Webb's upcoming Untitled Spider-Man Reboot is J. Jonah Jameson.

According to What's Playing, Webb is currently looking at potential actors to take over the Daily Bugle's gruff newspaper editor from J.K. Simmons, who portrayed Jameson in the first three Spider-Man movies from Sony.

Mad Men's John Slattery is apparently first in line for the role, having already worked with Marvel Studios on Iron Man 2, where he played Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) father. Sam Elliott also appears to be in contention for the role, though it is unclear if he has met with Sony yet about appearing in the reboot, or if the studio has only checked into his availability at this point. Elliott has also worked for Marvel Studios in the past, appearing in the original Ghost Rider.

Actors are still being read for the part. With the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot gunning full-speed ahead, we should be hearing an official announcement any day now on who might be the next J. Jonah Jameson.
