John Stamos has signed on to the adaptation of A Raisin in the Sun on ABC.
The Lorraine Hansberry play tells the story of a family living and struggling on Chicago's South Side in the 1950s. The Hollywood Reporter notes Stamos has been cast in the role of Carl Lindner, who represents the all-white community of Claybourne Park in its efforts to buy out the black Younger family from moving in. The three-hour movie also stars Sean Combs, Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald and Sanaa Lathan, who are reprising their roles from the 2004 Broadway revival.
A Raisin in the Sun starts shooting soon in Toronto with Kenny Leon serving as director.
