Brock Clarke's novel An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England has been optioned for a big screen adaptation by Warner Independent. According to Variety, John Wells is producing the film.

The book, published last month, follows the adventures of an arsonist who accidentally sets fire to Emily Dickinson's homestead by mistake. Years later, he becomes the prime suspect when a number of literary landmarks are burnt to the ground.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.
