Oh yeah, he's back! It has only been two years but the wait for John Wick: Chapter 2 has felt like an eternity for action fans. That wait just got a little bit shorter and we just got a lot more excited because the first trailer for the John Wick sequel has finally arrived. This time around John Wick has a new dog and a new movie to kick some serious ass in.

Lionsgate started teasing the John Wick: Chapter 2 trailer last week when they announced they would be bringing some footage, as well as star Keanu Reeves, to New York Comic Con. They also posted the first official image from the movie to Twitter, showing off John Wick's new dog, who we all hope makes it through the sequel. Lionsgate lived up to their promise, as the footage first debuted at the convention before getting released for all of us to feast our eyes on.

John Wick: Chapter 2 will see the return of Keanu Reeves as legendary hitman John Wick, who is forced to back out of retirement, which we hope has nothing to do with a dog getting killed. He will be coaxed back into the hitman game by a former associate who is plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins' guild. Wick is bound by a blood oath to help him, so he travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world's deadliest killers in what we are sure will be some memorable action sequences.

The first John Wick was a surprise hit in 2014. It was very well received by both fans and critics, but it also brought in $86 million worldwide on a $20 million budget. Not only that, but the movie has found a huge following after being released on streaming services and DVD. Lionsgate seems to be aware that there is a big appetite for John Wick: Chapter 2 and they appear to be doubling down this time around. Director Chad Stahelski has promised this installment will feature twice as much action, which is quite the tall order.

John Wick: Chapter 2 sees the return of stars Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Bridget Moynahan, Thomas Sadoski and Lance Reddick. The sequel has also added some new cast members in the form of Riccardo Scamarcio as the new villain, Laurence Fishburne as an assassin known as The Bowery King, Common, Ruby Rose and Peter Stormare.Chad Stahelski is directing solo this time around, after co-directing with David Leitch on the first movie. John Wick: Chapter 2 is set for release on February 10, 2017. Be sure to check out the first trailer for yourself courtesy of Lionsgate.
