After revealing the first poster earlier this week, CinemaCon 2022 has provided even more from the highly anticipated action sequel, John Wick: Chapter 4. Thanks to Deadline, we have some details regarding the John Wick: Chapter 4 panel, which closed the event and featured Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski introducing the first footage from the assassin's latest adventure. Wick wields nunchucks. That's about all you need to know.

In the footage, John Wick is once again hellbent on revenge. "Are you ready, John?" Laurence Fishburne asks Wick in the clip. "Yeah" the hitman replies, no doubt in his usual whispery tone. "I'm going to kill them all." Cue the cheering and applause.

"I want you to find peace, John," says Ian McShane's Winston. "The only path this leads to is death." These lines of dialogue are interspersed with footage of John Wick training. He likely needs it after that huge plunge towards the pavement he took in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Wick is shown "punching a wooden post to the point of his knuckles bleeding," according to the description.

Of course, we are treated to a montage of John Wick slaying his enemies, before the money shot reminds us why the action has become so popular and successful. The final moments have John Wick taking down two bad guys, "brutalizing them with nunchucks in a relentless, face-busting, merry-go-round motion." Wick is well and truly back. And this time, it's still personal.

Lionsgate Chairman Joe Drake then said a few words, heaping praise on both director and star before examining what it is that has given the John Wick franchise such impact on audiences. “Moviegoers told us that watching the first Wick was like seeing the genre evolve right before their eyes, with fight scenes crazier and somehow more real than anything they’d ever seen,” he said. “Shepherded by Chad in the director’s chair, and the Baba Yaga himself, these incredible filmmakers continue to subvert genre conventions and defy audience expectations. More lore. More inventiveness. Exquisite locations. From the Roman Catacombs, to Halle Berry shooting her way out of Casablanca. From John killing a 7-foot-tall hitman with a library book to horses galloping across the endless sweeping dunes of the Jordan desert”.

“That’s how John Wick became more than a beloved franchise — a singular experience and a cultural phenomenon,” he continued. “An original story with no pre-existing fanbase that made it to the big screen, bringing audiences rushing back to the theater for a fourth time.”

The plot of John Wick: Chapter 4 remains a mystery, but it certainly sounds like the beloved assassin will be taking the fight to The High Table. Directed by Chad Stahelski, with a script co-written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown, with Bill Skarsgård set to be the movie’s main antagonist.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to be theatrically released in the United States on March 24, 2023.
