The John Wick franchise has delivered some of the best modern action movies to date, culminating in an action-packed franchise that's easily among the best in the genre. Its action is simply breathtaking; the world is deeply engaging, and Keanu Reeves is… well, Keanu Reeves, what more do we need to say? John Wick was revolutionary for modern action movies, throwing David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, (producer and director) into action movie stardom and paving the way for more great and similar films. These movies included Nobody, Atomic Blonde, and most recently, Bullet Train and Violent Night. These movies may not have been possible without the help of the brilliant John Wick.

All three movies in the franchise so far, have simply been brilliant action movies through and through. Similarly, the highly anticipated John Wick Chapter 4, promises to be the best in the entire franchise, and here's why.

Action

John Wick Chapter 4

Of course, we have to start with the action, and John Wick Chapter 4 looks packed full of it. From the ever so brilliant gun fu scenes, to another brutal club scene, as well as promising dog action and gunfights on horses. Not only that, we can expect a spectacular action scene with a character using a bow and arrow, where they point-blank shoot an arrow through a goon's skull, as well as an epic showdown between two legends, Hiroyuki Sanada and Donnie Yen, as they flail Katana's at one another in one of the best shots in the trailer. What more could we ask for?

Not only does the fourth film promise more action, but the scenes are all so much bigger and more elaborate; far bigger than anything fans have ever seen. In the trailer, we can see John Wick riding around Paris in another smashed up car, shooting his pursuers in many awesome shots. The club scene looks huge, as John will without a doubt, be taking out wave after wave of bad guys, by any means necessary. We cannot wait to see John Wick Chapter 4's action in all its glory.

Cast

John Wick Chapter 4 - Cast
Lionsgate

One of the most exciting aspects to the upcoming John Wick flick, is the simply stellar cast appearing alongside Keanu Reeves. Of course, we have the phenomenal Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Lawrence Fishburne returning to the franchise. But it's the new cast that gets us excited. Featuring actors like Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Donnie Yen, who are all awesome and welcome additions to the franchise. While not featured in any trailers, Scott Adkins joins the cast, which we cannot wait for. We also have our fingers crossed for Common, John Leguizamo, Halle Berry, Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman to return to the franchise once more.

John Wick Vs Ip Man

Donnie Yen vs Keanu Reeves

For many, this is a match-up fans have wanted ever since we saw "The Baba Yaga" go full beast mode in the first John Wick film. Since then, fans have been anxiously awaiting the epic brawl between the two legends, Keanu Reeves and Donnie Yen. Finally, we have it, in many jaw-dropping shots in the trailer, we see Donnie Yen and Keanu Reeves going at each other, and in easily one of the best shots in the trailer, it shows the two firing at each other from point-blank range. Yes, this is the John Wick franchise, so they are wearing those incredible bulletproof suits. Thank the action movie gods!

Likewise, it appears that Donnie Yen's character is blind (much like his character in Rogue One), and will lead to some truly authentic and breathtaking moments of action. John will most likely use this to his advantage, as Donnie Yen will pose the deadliest threat that John has ever faced.

John Goes on a World Tour

John Wick Chapter 4 Eiffel Tower
Lionsgate

It's not unlike the John Wick franchise to transport its audience around the globe in an assassin-filled world tour, expanding on its world-building and leaving room for many amazing action set pieces. John Wick: Chapter 4, however, sees John's biggest world tour yet, as it seems he will be spending most of the film in the "city of love", Paris, or perhaps a more fitting term for the franchise, the "city of death". Likewise, we also see John riding on horseback and shooting down some goons in Egypt. We also know he will be traveling to Berlin and Japan, without mentioning his home turf of New York, of course. This will not only lead to many beautiful locales and set pieces, but also expand on the already huge world of the John Wick universe.

An Epic and Satisfying Conclusion

John Wick Conclussion
Lionsgate

Sadly, it seems John Wick: Chapter 4 may be the end of John Wick's story. While this hasn't been confirmed, nor denied, everything in the trailer seems to suggest that it may not be John's last ever appearance or movie, but it's safe to say that his overall story arc may certainly end with this installment. We hope it's not his last, but we wouldn't be surprised if it is.

With that, this finale and conclusion will truly without a doubt be an epic end to his story. Facing off against the deadliest assassins yet, with the likes Bill Skarsgård, Scott Adkins, and of course, Donnie Yen taking a piece out of "The Baba Yaga". John is still trying his best to find a way out, which at this point means seeking one of his family members who sit at the high table (Natalia Tena), as well as fighting one last battle against Bill Skarsgård. John Wick: Chapter 4 may also give John his closure and finally give the world's deadliest assassin time to grieve and remember his wife, something he has been trying to do since the first John Wick.
