Following her rise to fame last summer, power attorney Camille Vasquez is officially becoming a television personality. Over the course of a six-week televised trial, Vasquez represented Johnny Depp in the actor's defamation suit again ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury ruled heavily in Depp's favor in part due to the attorney's work, and after the big win, Vasquez was promoted to partner at her law firm Brown Rudnick. There were also reports of Hollywood agents approaching her with opportunities to capitalize on her newfound fame and popularity. Now, THR reports that Vasquez has signed a deal to serve as a legal analyst for NBC News. Reportedly, the signing came after at least three national news divisions had approached Vasquez with a job offer. Vasquez appeared on the NBC News show on Monday morning to make her debut in that job where she weighed in on the recent quadruple homicide of Idaho college students. “This has become something that really captivated the country, this case has,” Vasquez is quoted as saying, referring to internet detectives getting involved with high-profile cases. “And so people want to talk about the evidence, they want to talk about the human impact, and these are college students, right? I think it can be helpful to investigators, they pleaded to the public and asked for information about the [murder suspect’s] white Elantra, but it could also be harmful, when you start naming someone.”

The Depp v. Heard trial was watched by millions, and the coverage made Vasquez an instant celebrity. At one point, fans were even calling for Vasquez to replace Heard as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. She was portrayed by Melissa Marty (Station 19) in Tubi's movie about the trial, Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial. Along with fellow Depp attorney Ben Chew, Vasquez would also make subsequent TV appearances to speak about the case. Aside from fictional characters like She-Hulk and Saul Goodman, Vasquez is one of pop culture's most popular attorneys.

No word yet on if Vasquez will switch over to acting or appear in any feature films with her pal Johnny Depp.
