Jonathan Majors was arrested this weekend in NYC after being accused of a physical altercation with his girlfriend, according to reports from TMZ.

According to the latest reports, the alleged victim is Majors's girlfriend, and according to her, they were involved in an argument while traveling together in a taxi. TMZ's sources say she confronted the actor regarding another woman on his phone when the altercation began. Majors allegedly grabbed her hand and slapped her, in addition to putting his hands around her neck. Of course, these are just claims as of now, as nothing has been confirmed. The pair separated, with the girlfriend reportedly traveling to the police station the next morning to report the crime.

Majors was booked with charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. However, the actor's lawyers have quickly reached out to deny such claims. "He's done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up," one rep told TMZ. According to the report, the alleged victim had visible injuries from the altercation, including a laceration behind her ear and redness and marks on her face. Majors was taken into custody though he has since been released. Therefore, a statement from Majors could likely arrive soon.

Jonathan Majors is currently one of the biggest movie stars in the world, taking part in several big-name franchises. Earlier this month, the actor starred in Creed III alongside Michael B. Jordan, where he introduced the character of Damian "Dame" Anderson, otherwise known as Diamond Dame. He went head-to-head with Jordan's titular character, and the two duked it out in the ring before ultimately finding common ground near the film's end.

However, Majors is also set to appear in an unknown number of Marvel projects in the coming years while he plays the big bad of the Multiverse Saga as Kang the Conqueror. His character was first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki as He Who Remains, a multiversal variant of Kang. The actor recently took part in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he had his formal introduction as the Conqueror, and audiences only expected to see more from the actor with his titular Avengers movie, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty set for release on May 2, 2025.

Of course, all of this will likely change if Majors is found guilty of the alleged crimes. However, for now, fans will have to wait and see what's to come from the recent reports and whether any evidence is brought to light to clear his name.
