Considering some of his disturbing and eerie movies, the idea of director Jordan Peele owning someone else’s ear is maybe not the most bizarre thing to hear. However, the Nope helmer recently revealed that he actually does own one of actor Corey Feldman’s ears, albeit the prosthetic one he wore in Stephen King's movie Stand By Me. While appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Peele discussed his “creepy” acquisition, which was purchased in an auction in 2021. Peele said:

“I’m happy to consider [Corey] a friend. There was a whole thing where he was auctioning the ear that he wore as Teddy on Stand by Me and I guess I very creepily bought it. In saying it out loud, I realize how creepy it was. That’s not the thing you should share. At the end of this thing, I mentioned it to him and he’s like, ‘Wait, you got the ear?' I was like, ‘Yeah’ and he was like, ‘Man, I’m so glad it was you.'”

The auction in October 2021, which was staged around Feldman’s 50th birthday, included the prosthetic ear worn by the actor in the 1986 adaptation of King’s novella The Body, being sold off as a “hybrid NFT.” While Peele noted that talking about the purchase of an ear, prosthetic or otherwise, is certainly something that sounds creepy when spoken out loud, it is also certainly a subject that provides an interesting talking point.

Could Corey Feldman Reprise Some Of His Biggest Roles?

Corey Feldman Wants a Magical Goonies 2 Script

Corey Feldman was one of the child stars of the 1980s who seemed to turn up in every big blockbuster family film of the decade. Having appeared in Gremlins, The Goonies, The Lost Boys, and more, there have been plenty of rumors about Feldman potentially reprising some of these roles in belated legacy sequels. Previously, Feldman commented:

"I mean, we've done Lost Boys. We've done a couple sequels. I'd still like to do a final one that's done the right way, with a big budget and all the cast. We're very grateful that people still love the movie, that people still remember the movie, and now it's getting this re-release so it's kind of fresh and fun all over again. That said, I still want to make a sequel to Goonies. I don't know if it will ever happen -- especially with [director Richard]Donner gone, it's a sad thing. But every few years, it seems like there's a new idea in the pipeline and Warner Bros. gets that close to pushing the button and then it just falls apart. So who knows? Maybe one day it will happen, maybe not."

There are certainly many movies that have successfully continued the stories of much-loved 80s franchises. While it seems unlikely that Feldman will get such a chance in the future, a spiritual Goonies “remake” is currently in development for Disney+.
