Lionsgate is moving forward with a new video game adaptation before the game has been released yet. According to Variety, the studio has set Jose Padilha to direct Agent in Place.

Braulio Mantovani was also set by the studio to write the adaptation of the video game created by Flint Dille and Union Entertainment. The film will be a character-driven action film based on Dille's game, although no further details were given about a storyline.

It was said that Mantovani is working on the script now and Padilha will first direct The Sigma Protocol, an adaptation of a Robert Ludlum novel written by Iron Man screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, which is set for a late 2009 production start. No production schedule on Agent in Place was given.
