In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Rainn Wilson will act alongside Natalie Portman in Hesher.

The film will be directed by Spencer Susser. Susser co-wrote the script with David Michod.

The film follows a twentysomething who gets involved with a 13-year-old who lives with a drugged up father and grandmother.

Gordon-Levitt plays the title role. He is both a good and bad influence on the child's life. Wilson is the dad who is trying to cope with the passing of his wife.

Portman, who is also producing the film, plays a supermarket worker who develops feelings for the 13-year-old when she stops him from getting beaten up.

The film starts shooting next week in Los Angeles.
